Orbit V-Gate, the cloud phone system on Orbit, now has a setup guide in the Orbit console. It is open from the V-Gate page at any time and walks through five steps:
- How calls reach you: connect a line from your provider, with presets for common providers.
- Country and dialling rules: local, national and international formats and the emergency numbers for your country. The guide shows what will change before it applies anything.
- What callers hear: pick a starting point, such as a menu, a ring group or straight to one person.
- Try it: follow a call through your call flow before anyone dials in.
- Make a test call.
Dialling rules by country
Dialling rules now come in packs for North America, the United Kingdom, Ireland and the European Union, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, mainland China, Singapore, Japan, Korea, Australia and New Zealand, with an international-format pack for everywhere else. When the rules and the country of your number differ, the outbound page offers Adjust to my number and shows the difference first; cancelling changes nothing.
